Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the Events Committee has decided that the Finnish Scottish Society will not be holding its annual Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh and Burns Supper events this coming November and January. This was a difficult decision to make, but the health and safety of everyone in our Finnish Scottish Society community has to be our number one priority. The nature of these events makes social distancing pretty difficult, and the extra work involved in planning and hosting them while ensuring we comply with the various regulations would be a lot to ask of all our volunteers. … Continue reading 2020-21 Winter events
The Board, the Events Committee and all of the volunteers of the Finnish Scottish Society would like to thank all of the guests who came along to the Burns Supper last night on Suomenlinna and made it such a great event. Hi everyone! With all the preparations for our upcoming cèilidh, our anniversary has passed us by without note. Last week we were 1! In the past year we have been mentioned in the Scottish Parliament, held a Saint Andrew’s Day cèilidh, set up this website, held our first AGM, held a Burns Supper, had a beer tasting at BrewDog Helsinki and a pub crawl – with another one to come!
