The Finnish Scottish Society warmly invites you to our annual Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh to celebrate Scotland’s national day!
The cèilidh takes place on Saturday 30th November 2024 (Saint Andrew’s Day (link)) from 18:00 to 23:00 at Käpylän työväentalo, Vipusentie 19, Helsinki.
A cèilidh (meaning a “visit” in Gaelic) is a traditional Scottish social gathering with folk music, dancing, food, drink, and lots of laughter. Tickets cost 45€ for anyone aged 18 and over, and 35€ for children under 18 (40€ for members of the Society aged 18 and over, and 30€ for their children). The ticket prices include entry to the event, along with refreshments and some delicious traditional Scottish food (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options). The cèilidh is also BYOB (bring your own bottle / ottaa omat juomat mukaan) if you wish to.
The evening’s entertainment includes the society’s piper, Chucky Hindle, a performance by the Helsinki Pipes and Drums (link), and lots of dancing to the music of the Helsinki Ceilidh Band (link). Don’t worry if you don’t know the dances, our dance caller, Jim Irving, will explain the steps to all the dances. Just bring yourself along and have a good time!
Dancing is NOT compulsory. Kilts and tartan are encouraged, but there is no dress code.
There are no physical tickets, guests are signed in when arriving at the venue. Please include the first and last names of each of the guests you are booking tickets for in the comments section below when making your booking. If this is not done then bookings cannot be confirmed.
Please mention in the comments section below if you have any special dietary requirements.
TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Tickets may be transferred to another person of your choosing, but only after informing us at [email protected]
