The Finnish Scottish Society warmly invites you to our annual Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh to celebrate Scotland’s national day!
The cèilidh takes place on Saturday 8th November 2025 at Käpylän työväentalo, Vipusentie 19, Helsinki. Doors open at 18:00, the event begins at 18:30 and finishes at 23:00.
A cèilidh (meaning a “visit” in Gaelic) is a traditional Scottish social gathering with lots of folk music, dancing, food, drink, and laughter. The ticket prices include entry to the event, along with refreshments and some delicious traditional Scottish food (a main course and dessert, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options). The cèilidh is also bring your own bottle / ottaa omat juomat mukaan if you wish to.
The evening’s entertainment includes a performance by the Helsinki Pipes and Drums (link), and lots of dancing to the music of the Helsinki Ceilidh Band (link). Our dance caller James Irving will explain the steps to all the dances. Just bring yourself along and have a good time!
Dancing is NOT compulsory. Kilts and tartan are encouraged, but there is no dress code.
Once you have made your ticket booking you will receive an email with details of how you can make your payment, so please make sure you enter your correct email address.
You will receive another email confirming your tickets once your payment has been received. There are no physical tickets, guests are signed in at the venue door on the night.
When making your booking please include the FIRST and LAST NAME of each guest you are buying a ticket for in the comments section below, or we will be unable to accept the booking. Please also include information on any special diets.

*All holders of an event ticket agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
*TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Tickets may be transferred to another person of your choosing, but only after first informing the Finnish Scottish Society ry at [email protected]
*The Finnish Scottish Society ry reserves the right to refuse admission to the event to anyone who does not have a confirmed event ticket.
*The Finnish Scottish Society ry reserves the right to refuse admission or to evict from the event any person who is breaching these terms and conditions, committing a criminal offence, behaving in an anti-social manner or in a way that is offensive and/or disrespectful to the organisers and/or guests or compromises their safety, or is unreasonably intoxicated.
*By entering the event, guests agree and consent to being photographed, filmed or recorded as guests attending the event, and to such image(s) or recording(s) of them being used in future marketing and promotional material for the event and/or by the Finnish Scottish Society ry.
