The Scottish Government Nordic Office invited several of the society’s volunteers along to an event last night at Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo to celebrate St Andrew’s Day. The event was hosted by Ally Heather and featured performances by the former Makar (national poet of Scotland) Jackie Kay, poets Michael Pedersen and Harri Hertell, and music from Ellie Beaton, Janne Masalin and Esther Swift. The event was sponsored by Glen Scotia and Loch Lomond distilleries, who sent over some boxes of their fine whiskies. The Finnish Scottish Society would like to thank all of the guests who came to the Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh and made it such a great night.
