Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the Events Committee has decided that the Finnish Scottish Society will not be holding its annual Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh and Burns Supper events this coming November and January. This was a difficult decision to make, but the health and safety of everyone in our Finnish Scottish Society community has to be our number one priority. The nature of these events makes social distancing pretty difficult, and the extra work involved in planning and hosting them while ensuring we comply with the various regulations would be a lot to ask of all our volunteers.
We are now planning to hold an outdoor all-day cèilidh / Burns supper / Scottish karaoke event in the Greater Helsinki area in late May or early June 2021. We’re all desperate to get together, see everyone again and have a BIG party, so this seemed like the best way to do that. If you have any ideas for outdoor venues that we could use in Espoo, Helsinki, or Vantaa, please post them below or email us at [email protected] We’ll keep you all updated on plans for the event.
Take care, stay safe …and keep drinking Irn-Bru.
Big hugs,
Finnish Scottish Society
