The Finnish Scottish Society warmly invites you to our annual Saint Andrew’s Day Cèilidh to celebrate Scotland’s national day!
The cèilidh takes place on Saturday 30th November (Saint Andrew’s Day) from 18:00 to 23:00 at Käpylän työväentalo, Vipusentie 19, Helsinki.
For the uninitiated, a cèilidh (meaning a “visit, visiting” in Scottish Gaelic) is a traditional Scottish social gathering with folk music, dancing, food, drink, and lots of laughter. The tickets include entry to the event, along with some delicious traditional Scottish food (including vegetarian and gluten free options).
The evening’s entertainment includes bagpiper Chucky Hindle, the Helsinki Pipes and Drums, and lots of dancing to the music of the Helsinki Cèilidh Band. And don’t worry if you don’t know the dances. Our cèilidh dance caller, Jim Irving, will be there to explain the steps to all the dances. Just bring yourself along and have a good time!
Dancing is NOT compulsory. There is no dress code, but kilts and tartan are encouraged. We hope everyone can join us again for another great party.
We look forward to seeing you all there! Slàinte mhath
