In co-operation with KAVI, the National Audiovisual Institute of Finland, the Finnish Scottish Society is pleased to announce Scotland the What?  A season of films with Scottish roots.

The season starts on February 28th with the Ken Loach directed My Name is Joe (1998), starring Peter Mullan and Louise Goodall.  Also showing is the movie acclaimed as the peak of Bill Forsyth’s career, Local Hero (1983).

We include a mini-retrospective of one of Scotland’s most important film figures of today, Lynne Ramsay.  Featuring Ratcatcher (1999), Morvern Callar (2002), and We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011).

Rounding things out is the Proclaimers- inspired musical, Sunshine on Leith (2013) on Friday March 2nd.  We encourage you to have a few drams before coming as this screening will be a sing-a-long, with a musical warm-up provided by the estimable Mike Lennie and Jamie Firth.

On Saturday March 3rd, we will take over the beautiful Orion cinema with 3 screenings through the day, and some introductions to the movies being shown.
