The Finnish Scottish Society would like to warmly invite you to our 2020 Burns Supper to celebrate the life and works of Scotland’s bard, Rabbie Burns.

The Society’s annual Burns Supper is the only authentically Scottish supper which is held in Finland. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 25th January (Burns Night) in Myllysali on Suomenlinna, Helsinki. The event runs from 19:00 to 23:30. Doors open at 18:30.

For the unfamiliar, a Burns Supper is a three-course meal held in honour of the Scottish national poet, Robert Burns. The centrepiece of the meal is a haggis, served with neeps and tatties, which is brought into the room to the sound of bagpipes and greeted with a reading of Burns’ poem “Address to a Haggis”.

There will also be performances of Burns’ music and poetry, a performance from Helsinki Pipes and Drums, and other entertainment and refreshments. There is no dress code, but kilts and tartan are encouraged. The event is strictly for adults (18 years and older).

The Society’s annual Burns Supper is always a fantastic evening, and we hope everyone can join us again for another great event.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

“For a’ that, an’ a’ that,
It’s coming yet for a’ that,
That Man to Man, the world o’er,
Shall brothers be for a’ that.”
